Ilse Bader - PhD student

Ilse Bader completed her bachelor's program in Health and Life Sciences and a master's in Neurosciences. Currently, she is doing a PhD at the Alzheimer's Center at Amsterdam UMC.


Willem Vliegen - Business Developer

Willem Vliegen is a business developer at Catalyze Group. Before his function as a business developer, Willem worked as a consultant, also at Catalyze. He obtained his master’s degree in biomedical sciences with a track in immunology.


Júlia Tolrà - Medical Affairs Manager

Júlia Tolrà did the Master Neurosciences at the VU in Amsterdam. Currently, she is working at Danone as a junior Medical Affairs Manager.



Guus Erkens - Principal Scientist

Guus Erkens works as a Principal Scientist at Johnson & Johnson. He obtained his Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from the University of Groningen, pursued a PhD, and then worked as a PostDoc before moving to Leiden for his current position.


Marijn de Wit - Data Consultant

Marijn de Wit is a Data Consultant at Furore Conclusion. He completed the Master Neurosciences two years ago. After graduating, he worked as a student assistant at the VU for one year.


Izzy Kreuk - Clinical Research Associate

Izzy Kreuk works as a Clinical Research Associate at IQVIA. He completed his Bachelor's in Biopharmaceutical Sciences with a minor in Neuroscience, followed by a Master's in Biomedical Sciences.


 


Interview with Amber Besseling - Junior Lecturer


Amber is junior lecturer for the bachelor Biomedical sciences at the VU. Last year, she obtained her Master of Neurosciences. During her studies, she has worked in many different labs and was part of the honors program.

 


Interview with Panthea Nemat - PhD student

She graduated from her Master's in Neuroscience in 2021. During her studies she has worked in seven different labs including Donders Institute in Nijmegen, the Amsterdam UMC and the Netherlands Institute for Neuroscience in Amsterdam and University of Toronto, Canada. Currently, she is doing her PhD at the department for molecular and cellular neuroscience at the CNCR (Center for Neurogenomics & Cognitive research), VU Amsterdam. She is working on memory engrams.


 


Interview with Laus Broersen – Principal Scientist

He currently works as a principal scientist at the company Danone Nutricia Research. He graduated in psychopharmacology. Next, he acquired a PhD on the role of dopamine in the prefrontal cortex in relation to behavior. Following his PhD, he worked as a postdoc in Zurich (Switzerland) on the topic of prefrontal dopamine in models of schizophrenia and in Amsterdam on the topic of diencephalic amnesia.

 


Interview with Lineke Ouwerkerk - PhD

Lineke is a PhD student at Stockholm University and Leiden University where she investigates extinction learning in adolescents. Her project is an international collaboration between the unit Developmental and Educational Psychology at the Institute of Psychology at Leiden University and the Department of Psychology at Stockholm University.

 



Susan Hommerson is a policy officer for medical research and medical devices at the Eindhoven University of Technology. She followed the master Neurosciences from 2006 until 2009 after which she had several jobs consisting of coordinating and managing research projects until she landed her current job at the TU Eindhoven.

 

 



She completed her Masters in Neuroscience in the year 2018. She has worked at ttopstart as a project assistant for the business department for 9 months. subsequently, also worked as a data manager for 2 months at VUmc. Currently, she is working as a Research coordinator at Amsterdam UMC - location VUmc in the cardiology research department.

 

 





Interview with Lydian Knoop – Technician

Lydian Knoop is a technician for the 100-plus study at Amsterdam UMC. She graduated from her Master's degree in Neurobiology and Neurosciences, where she followed the Psychopharmacology and pathophysiology track at the University of Amsterdam in July 2021. During her studies, she has performed four internships during which she gained the knowledge which helped her land her current position.

Interview with Wendy Martinez - User Experience Researcher

Wendy Martinez is a user experience researcher at the eargym start-up. After finishing her Bachelor’s in Neuroscience at the University of Nottingham, she pursued a Master’s in Human-Computer interaction at the same university. Immediately following her graduation in September 2021, she worked as a research assistant at the University of Nottingham until she started working at eargym in April 2022.
